General Responsibilities
Schedule and conduct weekly meetings with all EYP Teachers for collaboration with the team, with the agenda and categorizes the meeting types
Schedule and conduct a meeting with a new teacher for IB / Grade-specific workshop or training
Cross-verify with homeroom teachers that the classroom (poster and essential agreement) is contextualised with the subject-specific requirements and EYP requirements
Responsible for ensuring that the subject-specific event, including field trip proposal and planning, are co-ordinated and take place in a timely manner
Responsible for recording meetings and action plans and building resources for the programme and department
Provide and train teachers with Subject-specific requirements and IB PYP requirements as per the individual guides available under Program Resource Centre on MyIB
Ensure that newsletters are shared in a timely manner amongst the parent community
Orient new parents into the programme at the start of the year or as and when required
Ensure all student and faculty issues such as behaviour are dealt with.
Familiarizes school community with the EYP policies.
Serves as the academic leader of the early years programme, directly responsible for the general organization and efficient administration of the programs.
Academic Responsibilities :
Ensure that the written curriculum meets the IB expectations for IB PYP
Reviews teacher’s lesson planning and classroom performance though classroom observations and personal interviews.
Train incoming teachers on ATL mapping within their grade areas
Mapping of curriculum including subject skills, ATLs and ATTs
Expected to monitor student's overall progression
Prepare an action plan with teachers to support student learning
Ensure accurate allocation of grade-specific resources (books, manipulatives, etc.)
