Job description

Supervision Received :

  • Receives technical and operational guidance from assigned Area Construction Manager or other assigned supervising manager.

Supervision Exercised :

  • Provides technical and administrative direction to contractors.
  • Contacts :

  • Jobsite contacts are with jobsite personnel including subcontractors / craft professionals and the customers resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities.
  • Major Responsibilities :

  • Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor s management staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
  • Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
  • Coordinates with engineering on constructability issues
  • Education and Experience Requirements :

  • A recognized degree in Electrical engineering or scientific discipline. Actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the technical knowledge described above.
  • Required Knowledge and Skills :

  • Technical knowledge of all phases of Electrical construction activities relating to a single or multiple area including testing methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation engineering / construction activities is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Indian standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various safety procedures and practices associated with the construction activities.
  • Familiar with Bechtels Business Ethics handbook and policies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety Health (ESH) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Bechtels 'Zero Accidents' safety program.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor / subcontractors responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
  • Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors / craft professionals.
