Our client is seeking to grow as a practice to match the increasing location population, as new suburbs have been developed.

Income :

• Private Billing practice . Think of offering ‘Boutique’ medicine, done your-way.
• Minimum incomes guarantee of $200 / hr patient-facing hours, for the first 3 months
• Ultimately $7,000 – $10,000 / week depending on working pattern / intensity
• 35% management fee, 65% of gross receipts to the GP
• Hours : 9am – 5pm only, Monday – Friday only.
• No Out-of-Hours requirement, however options for undertaking this well-paid and fun work

The tertiary University teaching hospitals & University of Newcastle medical school are 30min – you will not be doing your own X-rays or delivering babies here!

Amenities & Travel :

Lots of choice for recreation in the immediate locale – especially water-sports, beaches, walks in nature, even recreational aviation. Lake Macquarie is literally a minute one-way, and the Pacific ocean a minute the other… City of Lake Macquarie is about 500,000 people, with Newcastle (25 minutes-drive) our local city, being the Australia’s 7th largest and ‘just the right size’

House prices here are lower than nearer Sydney, which is why we now count increasing numbers of affluent Sydney commuters among our local population. We have a mix of schools from the public, state-schools through to fully-private, via the useful, small-fee-paying Catholic Schools that sit in between.

We can get to the Opera House in Sydney and back mid-week after work, if we want to see a show (Did ‘La Boehme’ for Valentine’s Day), so day-trips or weekends are an easy city-break. To go further afield again, Newcastle and Sydney airports are both easily accessible, (90 minutes & 50 minutes respectively) – especially as some of our patients are Uber drivers and can drop us if we ask!  ‘Ease-of-getting-away’, including back to Europe, has always been important for me as an Expat, is well-served by this practice’s location. Oh yes, and we also have the amenity of Good Weather!

Demographics & Geography :

A mixture of Swansea’s traditional age-retired and local families, now with a high and increasing proportion of newly arrived Sydney commuters and affluent retirees – ‘sea-change’ at work. We have the reputation of being the local quality practice, and we are very lucky with our patients…as they are with us!

Essential Requirement :

In order to be eligible for this position, overseas trained doctors are required to hold post graduate qualifications in General Practice i.e. MRCGP, MICGP, FRACGP, FRNZCGP or CCFP (Canada),

GPs from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Sweden, Spain and the Netherlands who have obtained specialist qualifications as a GP are encouraged to apply as well
