Senior .NET Application Modernization Architect

Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior .NET Application Modernization Architect to join our Application Modernization practice. This strategic role blends technical leadership with client-facing responsibilities across pre-sales, solutioning, and delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in modernizing legacy .NET applications, strong cloud architecture skills, and experience in regulated domains such as banking, finance, or healthcare. This role also requires demonstrated experience in leading development teams and contributing to enterprise architecture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead pre-sales engagements including client workshops, technical presentations, and proposal development.

Define and present modernization strategies for legacy .NET applications, including re-platforming, re-architecting, and cloud-native transformation.

Prepare Statements of Work (SOW), effort estimations, and pricing models.

Collaborate with sales, delivery, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with business goals.

Provide architectural oversight and governance throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Lead and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to modernization best practices.

Contribute to enterprise architecture planning and standards development.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in application modernization and cloud computing.

Required Skills

Deep expertise in .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, and related Microsoft technologies.

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS / GCP a plus).

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.

Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.

Excellent communication and presentation skills for client-facing engagements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge and Experience

10+ years of experience in software development and architecture, with at least 5 years focused on .NET technologies.

Proven track record in application modernization projects, including legacy system assessments and transformation roadmaps.

Experience in pre-sales solutioning, proposal writing, and client presentations.

Hands-on experience with cloud migration strategies and tools.

Experience leading development teams and managing technical delivery.

Preferably has contributed to or led enterprise architecture initiatives.

Domain experience in banking, financial services, or healthcare is highly preferred.

Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and design patterns.

Experience working in Agile and hybrid delivery models.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, .NET Developer) preferred.

Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) are a strong plus.

PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
