Main Purpose Of The Role :
Assisting with ensuring cargo quality, quantity management, and compliance throughout the supply chain in Far East operations.
This role involves coordinating inspections, managing quality control processes, and mitigating cargo-related risks to protect Trafigura's commercial interests.
The position requires physical attendance at key operational sites including ports, terminals, refineries, and storage facilities across the region to oversee critical cargo operations and ensure diligent inventory management.
The specialist will be actively involved in higher-risk operations ensuring potential risks are reviewed and implementing required preventative measures.
Travel within the Far East region is expected to ensure hands-on supervision of cargo movements and maintain direct relationships with key service providers.
Key & Quantity Assurance :
- Investigate quality / quantity discrepancies, with the intention of understanding the cause and implementing corrective measures for future operations.
- Reviewing upcoming operations and identifying those with a higher risk. Putting processes in place to ensure all risks are thoroughly mitigated.
- Physical attendance to Trafigura operations and storage locations to oversee operations taking place and carry out checks and validation of Trafigura inventory.
Risk Management :
Identify potential cargo risks during transportation and storageImplement preventive measures and contingency plansMaintain relationships with inspection companies and cargo assurance surveyorsOperational Coordination :

3-5 years experience in cargo inspection, quality control, or commodities tradingStrong knowledge of oil / petroleum product commodity specificationsUnderstanding of international trade terms and shipping proceduresProficiency in English and local language(s)Willingness to travel extensively within Far East regionAbility to work in challenging operational environments and high-pressure situationsPreferred Skills
