Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - AWS

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services such as VPC, EC2, S3, CloudFront, and WAF, along with strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform and Ansible.

This role requires a proactive engineer who can collaborate with development and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployments, high availability, and strong security across all environments. You will be working to support a German company predominantly in core German operating hours from 8 am to 5 pm.

This person will also lead the overall team from a technology capability and capacity management perspective to ensure we have the overall efficiency and effective collaboration. This role will be the main conduit between technology and business operations, along with ensuring work is delivered seamlessly across the technology landscape, with good communication :

• Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, EC2 instances, S3 buckets, CloudFront distributions, and AWS WAF.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for repeatable, version-controlled deployments.
• Automate configuration management and deployments using Ansible.
• Ensure infrastructure adheres to security, compliance, and governance best practices.
• Build and manage CI / CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
• Optimize AWS resource usage for cost efficiency and performance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture, processes, and :
• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or cloud operations.
• Proficiency in Terraform (HCL) for IaC.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and source control (Git).
• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration expertise in AWS core services :
• Networking (VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, security groups).
• Compute (EC2 Auto Scaling, Load Balancers).
• Storage (S3 lifecycle policies, encryption).
• Content delivery and security (CloudFront, WAF, IAM, Skills :
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
• Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana).
• Familiarity with serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator / DevOps Engineer.
