We’re building Africa’s super-app, starting with food delivery. Fresh off a >

$1M funding round led by Soma Capital with top Silicon Valley angels, we’re hiring a Founding Engineer to help architect the next phase of our development as we expand to new markets. This fully remote role provides you with massive upside and exposure to an exciting, fast-moving Silicon Valley startup while allowing you to continue to work IST hours.

What you’ll do

Work directly with CTO and CEO to shape the direction of development

Make fundamental decisions about our tech stack, codebase scope, microservice articulation, and system architecture

Design scalable and robust backend systems (routing algorithms, location prediction, etc) to enable our user base to grow exponentially

Work with a talented Silicon Valley team in a fast-paced environment to integrate and build technologies specific to African markets

Partner directly with our on-the-ground operations staff to design, create and test user-friendly development decisions and workflows

Work with CTO and CEO on recruitment to help grow our team from 3 to 6-8 engineers

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).

Include your JEE score with your application if you took the JEE.

3+ years of software development (incl. senior-level scope / ownership)

System architecture experience (services, data models, queues, caching, cloud)

≥1 year in PHP (preferably Laravel )

Comfortable with AI-driven development

Major plus : experience at food delivery / quick commerce (Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto, Blinkit, Dunzo, MagicPin, Rebel Foods)

Significant plus : Experience with iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and / or Android (SDK) development

Significant plus : Experience at any other startup, especially international startups.

The role

Benefits : negotiable

Time : 40 hrs / week minimum

Compensation : $5.5k–$8k / month + performance bonus + potential for signing bonus

≈ ₹4.86–₹6.63 lakh per month

≈ ₹58.3–₹85 LPA

Equity : 0.75%–1.25%
