ABOUT THE ROLE :
As the Head of Planning, you will be responsible for building and refining the planning systems that drive project excellence at MODERN SPAACES. You will lead strategic initiatives covering forecasting, resource optimization, scheduling, and risk assessment — ensuring every project is planned with precision and delivered with excellence in quality, time, and cost.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and own the planning strategy for the organisation : forecasting work volume, resource requirements (people, materials, equipment), capacity planning, timeline management.
- Establish and implement robust planning frameworks, tools and methodologies (e.g., schedule modelling, scenario planning, risk assessment).
- Oversee the project lifecycle planning : initiation, execution, monitoring / scheduling, handover.
- Lead cross-functional coordination (design, operations, procurement, logistics) to align plans, remove bottlenecks, optimise flow.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for planning, schedule adherence, resource utilisation, cost control, and implement continuous improvement.
- Build and manage the planning team : hire, develop, mentor planners / schedulers, set objectives and performance metrics.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on planning health, forecast vs actual, risk areas and corrective actions.
- Work closely with business partners to align planning with the company's strategic goals, growth initiatives and client commitments.
KEY SKILLS :
10+ years of experience in planning, scheduling or project controls (preferably in construction / project-based services) with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.Strong command of planning tools and methodologies; experience with advanced scheduling & forecasting systems will be a plus.Proven ability to operate cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholder relationships, including senior leadership.Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; able to interpret data and translate into actionable plans.Experience in capacity planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation and scenario modelling.Strong leadership and people-management capability : building high-performing teams, driving change and embedding planning discipline.Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to articulate complex planning issues clearly to senior leadership.Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction ManagementSkills Required
