Job Description – AS400 / L2 Support
We are looking for an AS400 L2 Support Engineer with strong experience in IBM i operations, job monitoring, and application troubleshooting. The role involves handling incidents, resolving batch job failures, analyzing job logs / spool files, and supporting RPG / CL / COBOL-based applications. The engineer will also assist in system health checks, job scheduling, data fixes, and coordination with L3 / development teams for escalations.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AS400 commands, SQL / DB2 queries, message queues, and day-to-day operational tasks such as monitoring subsystems, queues, and interfaces. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage issues in a production environment are essential. Exposure to ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Remedy is preferred.
This role requires good communication skills, the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and readiness for rotational shifts or on-call support. Experience in domains such as retail, logistics, or manufacturing on the IBM i platform is an added advantage.
