Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Vice President, Windchill PLM Architect!
The Windchill PLM Architect will be responsible for defining and leading the technical architecture, solution design, and implementation of PTC Windchill-based PLM solutions across enterprise programs. This role requires deep expertise in PLM processes, strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, and hands-on experience with Windchill modules and customization. The architect will serve as the primary technical authority ensuring scalable, robust, and future-ready PLM ecosystems aligned with business goals.
To lead solutioning for PLM services and develop people-process-technology-digital transformative solutions which can address client's requirements in PLM space.
Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
Define end-to-end architecture for PLM solutions leveraging Windchill, ThingWorx , and related PTC technologies.
Translate business and engineering requirements into scalable and modular PLM system designs.
Develop integration strategy with CAD systems (Creo, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks), ERP, MES, and other enterprise systems.
Lead system design for key modules such as Change Management, BOM Management, Configuration Management, and Document Control.
Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security standards, and data governance policies.
Implementation Leadership
Lead technical teams in configuring, customizing, and deploying Windchill PLM solutions.
Review and approve solution designs, extensions, and custom code.
Conduct performance tuning, scalability assessments, and system validation.
Guide migration of legacy PLM or PDM systems to Windchill platforms.
Stakeholder & Technical Governance
Act as the primary technical advisor to program management and business stakeholders.
Work closely with solution architects from ERP, MES, and CAD domains to ensure seamless interoperability.
Create architectural blueprints, technical documentation, and standards for ongoing maintenance.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate emerging PTC capabilities (e.g., Windchill REST APIs, Navigate, ThingWorx integrations) for modernization opportunities.
Recommend process and technology improvements to enhance product lifecycle efficiency and data traceability.
Mentor technical teams and support capability building in PLM architecture practices.
Others
Lead client discussions and drive creation of transformational Solutions that connect elements of PLM value chain & creating the optimal techno commercial constructs
Work closely with the Clients Enterprise PLM implementation teams and lead the requirement gathering workshops and solution design sessions.
Serve as an internal subject matter expert (SME) for all Enterprise PLM process domains including Configuration Management, Product Quality Management, Requirements Management, Design Management, Product Compliance and Product Portfolio Management.
Lead the technical design and development of the integration between PLM solutions and boundary systems.
Articulate Value proposition for client solutions by highlighting key business outcomes and the value of the created solution.
Publish thought leadership across multiple channels, e.g. white papers, company intranet, articles in business and Industry or Horizontal- specific publications, speaking engagements, social media (Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn)
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline is required ( Master's degree or equivalent is desirable).
experience in PLM solution design and implementation.
Deep knowledge of Windchill modules : PDMLink , ProjectLink , Change Management, BOM Management, and Parts Classification.
Proficiency in Java, JSP, XML, and Windchill customization frameworks.
Experience with Windchill REST Services, Info.Engine, and Workflow Development.
Understanding of DevOps practices for PLM (CI / CD pipelines, deployment automation, containerization).
Familiarity with cloud deployments (Azure / AWS) and microservices architecture is a plus.
Preferred Certificates :
PTC Certified Windchill Architect / Specialist.
TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification.
Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker).
Proven ability to generate business and spearhead the elevation of portfolio client engagements to their next level of growth
Proven track record of driving change in people and processes, with strong project management, implementation, and process improvement skills
