Description : Job Summary :
The Linux Engineer will be a part of the Global Linux Support Team responsible for providing advanced level technical support to enterprise customers. The role requires strong expertise in Linux technologies, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to ensure high service quality and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer focus, adaptability, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Eligibility & Qualification :
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Linux technical support.
- Relevant certifications such as HP-UX / RHCSA / RHCE are highly desirable.
- Willing to work in 24x7 rotational shift operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues via phone, email, and remote support tools.Reproduce customer issues in-house and provide timely resolutions with regular follow-ups.Drive Incident Management by resolving complex or cross-technology incidents independently.Lead Escalation Management and coordinate technical escalation during crisis situations.Perform Problem Management including RCA, trend analysis, and preventive actions.Manage Change Implementation plan, review, risk assess, execute, rollback, and validate changes.Maintain patch and security compliance and conduct periodic security audits.Maintain CMDB accuracy and configuration integrity.Design and implement Linux-based solutions for critical customer infrastructure needs.Collaborate with hardware, software, and cross-functional support teams for issue resolution.Prepare operational metrics, SLA reports, and participate in customer reviews.Support DR drills and ensure readiness of failover environments.Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge documentation.Participate in internal and customer projects, KT, and service transitions.Act as a trusted advisor by building strong customer relationships.Lead virtual / global teams for process improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.Technical Skills Required :
1. Advanced knowledge in installation, administration, configuration & troubleshooting of :
Linux platforms : Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, HP-UX, AIX2. Strong knowledge in :
Linux networking & security conceptsCluster Services (HP-UX, RHEL, SUSE)SAN technologies & converged solutionsHP Servers : Blade, SD-Flex, Rackmount, Virtual ConnectPatch deployment / management : Red Hat Satellite, SUSE ManagerDisaster Recovery planning and testingVulnerability analysis and mitigationHPE ServiceGuard clusters for Database & ERP integration3. Experience with performance & capacity monitoring tools.
