Social Media Manager

Job descriptionManage content calendars across all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, , YouTube, TikTok, X / Twitter) Collaborate with video, photo, and design teams to produce engaging, high-quality multimedia content Maintain a consistent brand narrative that reflects dignity, hope, and community through authentic storytelling Experiment with new formats such as short-form videos, storytelling series, and live events to expand audience reach Write and edit impactful, emotion-driven copy that highlights stories, inspires action, and strengthens brand identity Build and nurture an active, mission-driven online community aligned with the organisation’s values Develop ambassador or advocate programs to expand organic reach and partnerships Lead community management — ensuring timely, compassionate, and professional engagement with followers Monitor conversations, respond to comments and messages, and maintain consistent tone and authenticity Identify opportunities for collaborations, influencer partnerships, and cross-promotional initiatives Track and analyse performance using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and Hootsuite Social Translate insights into actionable strategies to improve content quality, audience targeting, and engagement Provide monthly and quarterly reports for leadership, highlighting key trends, progress, and recommendations Conduct A / B testing to refine social content and optimise engagement Work closely with the fundraising, communications, and marketing teams to integrate social media into broader campaigns Mentor and guide creative teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and brand voice Manage the social media budget and oversee paid social campaigns when required Stay ahead of emerging trends, platform developments, and best practices in digital engagement within the humanitarian space Represent the organisation in digital collaborations or events, positioning it as a leader in humanitarian storytelling Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field Proven (3+) years of experience managing social media strategy and execution, preferably in a non-profit or purpose-driven organisation Proven experience developing and executing data-driven, multi-platform campaigns that grow engagement and brand awareness Strong understanding of content strategy, storytelling, and digital engagement trends Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to craft emotionally engaging stories Experience leading or collaborating with creative teams (video, photography, design) Strong understanding of analytics, paid promotions, and organic growth strategies Excellent understanding of visual storytelling, digital branding, and audience psychology Proficiency in analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or similar) Excellent communication, copywriting, and editorial skills Passion for humanitarian values and ethical, human-centred communication Experience managing paid social advertising and digital campaigns Familiarity with CRM or fundraising tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, or Meta Business Suite / Ads Manager) Experience with tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, or Adobe Creative Suite Track record of leading or mentoring digital teams Experience in communications or reputation management on social platforms
Grow Your Staff is looking for a Social Media Manager for a UK-based international humanitarian charity NGO. This is a full-time remote position.
The role will have excellent growth opportunities. You will be directly working with the team based in the UK.
Experience : 3-6 years
CTC : INR 5-10 LPA
Location : Remote
Time : 1 PM - 10 PM IST (Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking social media strategy aligned with the organisation’s mission, fundraising, and communication goals
- Set clear growth KPIs and performance metrics for engagement, reach, conversion, and retention
- Act as a strategic advisor on digital communications, identifying new opportunities, platforms, and trends
- Oversee the annual content calendar, ensuring alignment across marketing, fundraising, and communication teams
