PostgreSQL Engineer L3

Location : Hyderabad

Responsibilities

Act as subject matter expert for PostgreSQL database operations and automation across hybrid environments.

Configure and maintain high availability (HA) and replication strategies for mission-critical databases.

Design and implement backup and recovery policies using pgBackRest or Commvault integrations.

Optimize queries, indexes, and storage parameters to improve performance and resource utilization.

Automate patch deployment, version upgrades, and DR validation using Ansible or Jenkins pipelines.

Collaborate with application teams to tune SQL and connection pools for production workloads.

Integrate PostgreSQL metrics into Splunk and AWS CloudWatch / Azure Monitor for proactive monitoring and analytics.

Lead problem management and RCA documentation for database incidents.

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.

Good years of experience in PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and automation.

Strong understanding of replication, HA, and disaster recovery architecture.

Proficiency in SQL, PL / pgSQL scripting, and query optimization.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

Primary : PostgreSQL 12+, pgBackRest, Ansible, Jenkins, AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, Splunk.

Secondary : Linux, Python, GitLab CI / CD, Terraform, Prometheus, CloudWatch.

Certifications : PostgreSQL DBA / AWS Database Specialty.
