Java Backend Developer

Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 5+ years of backend development experience in Java (8 / 11 / 17 / 21) and Spring Boot . Strong knowledge of OOP , REST APIs , Microservices , and Design Patterns . Familiarity with Kubernetes (AKS) , Docker , and CI / CD tools ( Azure DevOps , Jenkins , GitHub Actions ). Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases , Kafka / JMS , and cloud fundamentals. Hands-on with Spring Batch for batch processing (retail systems experience preferred). Proficient in unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and Git . Solid understanding of observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / EFK, OpenTelemetry). Awareness of AI-assisted tools for code generation and static analysis. Strong grasp of secure coding , performance optimization , and automation . Excellent problem-solving , communication , and collaboration skills. Good to have : Elasticsearch experience for distributed search and log analytics. Retail systems knowledge is an added advantage. Strong command of English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend microservices using Java , Spring Boot , and Spring Cloud .
- Implement solutions aligned with design and architecture standards.
- Deliver tasks end-to-end ensuring stability , scalability , and performance .
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code with long-term maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews , peer testing , and CI / CD pipeline integration .
- Collaborate with senior developers to apply design patterns and refactor legacy modules.
- Work closely with QA , DevOps , and Product teams for seamless releases.
- Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis , and ensure system reliability.
- Use observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) for monitoring and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident resolution.
- Integrate AI-assisted development tools for testing and optimization.
- Stay updated on Java releases , frameworks, and emerging technologies.
