Azure Cloud Engineer - ARC

Job Description

The Azure Cloud Engineer - Azure Arc Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure, with a particular focus on Azure Arc. This role involves implementing and supporting hybrid and multi-cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud resources. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure services and a deep understanding of Azure Arc capabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

Azure Arc Management :

Implement, configure, and manage Azure Arc to extend Azure management and governance across on-premises, multi-cloud, and edge environments.

Integrate non-Azure resources with Azure services to enable unified management and monitoring.

Cloud Infrastructure Design and Management :

Design and deploy scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using Azure services.

Manage and optimize Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, and network configurations.

Hybrid Cloud Solutions :

Develop and maintain hybrid cloud solutions that bridge on-premises data centers and Azure cloud environments.

Ensure compatibility and seamless operation of Azure Arc with on-premises and other cloud platforms.

Automation and Scripting :

Develop and manage automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and managing Azure resources using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to streamline deployments and configurations.

Monitoring and Optimization :

Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other tools to monitor performance, availability, and security of cloud resources.

Analyze and optimize cloud resource usage to ensure cost-effectiveness and performance.

Security and Compliance :

Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Manage identity and access controls using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and role-based access control (RBAC).

Technical Support and Troubleshooting :

Provide technical support for Azure and Azure Arc-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems.

Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to address complex technical challenges.

Documentation and Reporting :

Maintain detailed documentation of Azure Arc configurations, deployments, and best practices.

Prepare and present reports on cloud infrastructure performance, usage, and incident resolutions.

Continuous Improvement :

Stay updated with the latest Azure and Azure Arc features, tools, and best practices.

Recommend and implement improvements to enhance cloud infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Security Clearance Requirement Given the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens with an active security clearance or are eligible for obtaining security clearance.

This requirement ensures that all team members are cleared to handle sensitive information and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security in our operations.

On-call and Shift Expectations : This position is primarily focused on managed services, meaning you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our clients' IT systems (Applications and Infrastructure). Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may be required to work in shifts to provide continuous support. Additionally, you may need to be on call to address incidents promptly and perform after-hours deployment activities as needed. Your ability to effectively manage these responsibilities will be crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our services and client satisfaction.
