Job Summary
The Export Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end export operations of FMCG food products, ensuring smooth international trade execution, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role involves identifying new global markets, developing business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with buyers, distributors, and logistics partners to achieve export growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development & Client Acquisition
Identify and explore new international markets to expand the global footprint of FMCG products.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential buyers, distributors, and business partners.
Drive client acquisition by managing onboarding, negotiations, and order finalization with transparent pricing and documentation.
Client Relationship Management
Coordinate with international clients for order planning, dispatch scheduling, and post-shipment follow-ups.
Foster and maintain long-term relationships with buyers by understanding market-specific needs and providing customized product and service solutions.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and issue resolution.
Export Operations & Documentation
Prepare and manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping bills, and sales contracts in accordance with destination country regulations.
Oversee all statutory and regulatory requirements such as DGFT documentation, customs clearance, port formalities, and compliance with EXIM policies.
Maintain organized, audit-ready export records as per internal and external standards.
Logistics & Coordination
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs house agents (CHAs), and logistics partners to ensure timely shipments.
Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure product availability and dispatch alignment with client requirements.
Monitor end-to-end shipment movements, addressing delays, damages, or discrepancies proactively.
Negotiate freight rates and vendor terms to optimize logistics costs.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure adherence to international food safety and export standards including FSSAI, HACCP, FDA, Organic, and ISO certifications.
Stay updated with global trade regulations, documentation norms, and quality compliance requirements for FMCG exports.
Reporting & Analysis
Maintain export data, records, and MIS reports for management review.
Provide periodic reports on export performance, cost optimization, and market trends.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or related field (MBA preferred).
3 - 6 years of experience in FMCG food product exports.
In-depth knowledge of export documentation, shipping procedures, and international compliance standards.
Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs agents, and regulatory authorities.
Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and food safety certifications (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP / export management systems.
