About the role

Give is structured as a private limited company in India, with affiliate entities in the US (a C corp, and a 501c3 foundation). An 8 member finance team, based in Bangalore, manages all the finance operations for all business divisions and entities. This team is supported by tax and legal advisors, both in the US and in India, as needed.

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Head to lead this team, and take end to end ownership of all finance, legal, commercial and compliance responsibilities for Give. You will be a part of the leadership team, and will help guide the future strategy and success of the organization.

Responsibilities and outcomes -

  • Accounting
  • Accounting policies, systems and structures
  • Day to day book-keeping and accounting operations
  • Statutory audits, internal audits, external client or regulatory audits as and when required
  • Payroll, AP and AR
  • Tax
  • GST and IT filings
  • Tax structuring, transfer pricing
  • Tax assessments, disputes and litigation
  • Coordination with tax advisors, legal experts
  • Financial planning and analysis
  • Annual budgeting and cash flow forecasting
  • Monthly MIS for business performance and cash flow planning
  • Treasury investments and long term financial stability and cash flow planning
  • Secretarial compliance
  • MCA
  • RBI and FEMA
  • US compliances for the relevant entities, with support from local advisors
  • Legal
  • Single point of contact for legal counsel
  • Legal and commercial policies, templates and authorizations
  • Support for commercial contract negotiations, as and when required

This is a high visibility, hands-on role in one of India’s leading social impact organizations. We are a small, agile organization and all of our leaders need to be able to roll up their sleeves and execute, not just lead teams.

You will be successful if you come with

  • 15+ years of overall experience with 3+ years in a lead role , with end to end responsibility for finance
  • A Chartered Accountant / MBA finance (tier 1 institutes only) qualification
  • A genuine interest to be in the social impact sector (prior exposure to social impact organizations / NGOs is not necessary)
  • Advanced excel and financial modeling skills are a must have. Ability to use AI tools effectively will be a strong positive.
  • Experience with startups or small organizations would be a strong positive

  • Give.do - online platform for retail donors to donate to an NGO or a cause of their choice. Donations can be one-time or recurring subscriptions. The platform operates in India and in the US. More than 100,000 donors use the platform every year to donate to 800+ nonprofits.
  • Give Grants - consulting services and a SaaS platform for CSR management. Works with 50+ India based companies for CSR strategy, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessments and program design.
  • Give Discover - a platform of choice for verified NGO information. It currently has more than 57000 NGO profiles, and conducts 500+ detailed due diligences every year.
