Responsibilities
Strategic and Core Activities :
- Monitor and verify all shift activities including machine checking, IPQC (dimensional and attribute), FT change, DB change, greaser change, color change, daily machine performance reports, and process parameters.
- Implement quality corrections (dimension correction, moisture correction, process parameters) to minimize defects and achieve the target DAFOE.
- Ensure all process parameters are maintained during color changes (viscosity, temperature, dip length, dip bath centrality and parallelity, gelatin level).
- Check and ensure viscosity norms are maintained whenever there are variations in weight and viscosity.
- Monitor process parameters through SCADA and take corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Generate and communicate daily shift performance reports to support HOD / Incharge in decision-making.
- Ensure 100% SAP entries for dips and downtime during the shift.
- Conduct first-off verification during color change, fill correct formats, update color change boards, and verify line clearance as per SOP to ensure FTR.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (CFT) for color changes, machine tripping, breakdowns, downtime, and regulatory aspects related to cGMP.
- Control excess and short production to maintain inventory levels and improve DAFOE / OTDIF.
- Communicate leftover dip quantities of running batches to the Gel Room Chemist for planning.
- Ensure all necessary materials for the shift are available before shift start.
- Communicate quality status to the team to maintain consistent quality.
- Execute uncut camera / laser sensor teaching during color changes.
- Ensure proper shift handover and takeover.
- Handle observation audits during the shift.
- Conduct daily shift opening meetings with the team for planning and task allocation.
- Review and verify all shift documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Plan and conduct training for operators on GDP.
- Ensure all associates are trained on GMP and Data Integrity (DI) policies.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards (ISO 14001 : 2015, ISO 45001 : 2018, cGMP, TPM, and statutory compliances).
