Job Description :
Customer Ask : WSO2 as Identity Server
- WSO2 is used as an Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform for authentication and authorization across multiple applications and environments (production, staging, non-production, DR, etc.).
- The customer expects the MSP to provide end-to-end operational support, including :
o Day-to-day management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of WSO2 services.
o Ensuring high availability, security, and compliance of the identity infrastructure.
o Supporting integrations with other enterprise systems (e.G., SSO, federation, MFA, user lifecycle management).
o Managing upgrades, patches, and vulnerability remediation for WSO2 and its plugins.
o Maintaining documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base for all WSO2-related operations.
o Supporting audits, compliance checks, and reporting as per Client’s policies.
2. MSP Responsibilities (from SOW and Contract)
A. Operations & Support
24x7 support for incidents, service requests, and problem management related to WSO2.Incident response : Timely detection, escalation, and resolution of issues, with root cause analysis for major incidents.Change management : All changes (upgrades, patches, configuration) must follow client's change control process and be documented.Configuration management : Maintain accurate CMDB entries for all WSO2 components and environments.Backup & DR : Ensure regular backups, test restores, and participate in DR drills for WSO2 environments.B. Security & Compliance
Vulnerability management : Regular scanning, patching, and remediation of WSO2 and its plugins.Audit support : Provide logs, evidence, and documentation for internal / external audits.Policy adherence : Comply with Client’s information security, privacy, and compliance policies (GDPR, etc.).Access management : Enforce least privilege, manage privileged accounts, and support user lifecycle operations.C. Service Levels & Reporting
Meet or exceed agreed SLAs for incident response, resolution, and service availability.Provide regular reports (incidents, changes, compliance, capacity, etc.) as per contract requirements.Participate in governance meetings, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer satisfaction surveys.D. Knowledge Management
Maintain and update SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation for WSO2 operations.Provide training and knowledge transfer to customer teams as needed.3. Key Points for MSP Support
Proactive Monitoring : Use monitoring tools to detect issues before they impact users.Automation : Leverage automation for routine tasks (patching, user provisioning, reporting).Continuous Improvement : Identify and propose enhancements to improve reliability, security, and efficiency.Collaboration : Work closely with Client’s IT / security teams, participate in change advisory boards, and coordinate with other vendors as required.Compliance : Ensure all activities are auditable and compliant with Client’s standards and regulatory requirements.4. WSO2 is part of a broader ecosystem including firewalls, databases, cloud, and on-prem infrastructure.The MSP is expected to manage WSO2 alongside other critical tools (e.G., CyberArk, Saviynt, Azure AD, etc.) and ensure seamless integration and operation across the stack.
