About the Opportunity :
Our client, a leading full-service law firm in India, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate or Counsel to join their Employment Law practice . The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Indian labour and employment laws, strong client advisory skills, and the ability to lead high-impact mandates across sectors.
This is a high-visibility role for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, advisory-heavy environment, and is ready to take the lead on complex employment law matters including compliance, advisory, investigations, and contentious issues.
Key Responsibilities :
- Advise domestic and multinational clients on a wide range of employment and labour law issues including :
- Employment contracts, HR policies, compensation structures, and termination matters
- Industrial disputes, disciplinary proceedings, and employee misconduct
- POSH compliance and internal investigations
- Labour law audits and due diligence for M&A transactions
- Workforce structuring, transfers, and retrenchment strategy
- Represent clients before labour authorities, tribunals, and other forums as necessary
- Draft and negotiate employment-related documentation and settlement agreements
- Stay abreast of developments in Indian employment law and contribute to knowledge management initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including litigation, corporate, and compliance teams
- Supervise and mentor junior associates in the practice
Candidate Profile :
LL.B. from a reputed Indian law school7–12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a top-tier law firm or leading in-house legal departmentStrong command of Indian labour laws, industrial regulations, and case law developmentsExcellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skillsExperience in handling sensitive investigations and employment litigation preferredBusiness-oriented mindset with excellent client-handling skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments independently and under deadlinesTeam player with a collaborative working styleWhat’s on Offer :
