About the Opportunity :

Our client, a leading full-service law firm in India, is seeking a highly qualified Senior Associate or Counsel to join their Employment Law practice . The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Indian labour and employment laws, strong client advisory skills, and the ability to lead high-impact mandates across sectors.

This is a high-visibility role for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, advisory-heavy environment, and is ready to take the lead on complex employment law matters including compliance, advisory, investigations, and contentious issues.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Advise domestic and multinational clients on a wide range of employment and labour law issues including :
  • Employment contracts, HR policies, compensation structures, and termination matters
  • Industrial disputes, disciplinary proceedings, and employee misconduct
  • POSH compliance and internal investigations
  • Labour law audits and due diligence for M&A transactions
  • Workforce structuring, transfers, and retrenchment strategy
  • Represent clients before labour authorities, tribunals, and other forums as necessary
  • Draft and negotiate employment-related documentation and settlement agreements
  • Stay abreast of developments in Indian employment law and contribute to knowledge management initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including litigation, corporate, and compliance teams
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates in the practice

Candidate Profile :

  • LL.B. from a reputed Indian law school
  • 7–12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a top-tier law firm or leading in-house legal department
  • Strong command of Indian labour laws, industrial regulations, and case law developments
  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience in handling sensitive investigations and employment litigation preferred
  • Business-oriented mindset with excellent client-handling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments independently and under deadlines
  • Team player with a collaborative working style
