Job Description : A&R Manager
About the Role : As an A&R Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, signing, and developing new musical talent while managing relationships with existing artists. You will be responsible for scouting talent, nurturing artistic growth, aligning projects with market trends, and ensuring commercial success for the label and artists. This role requires a deep understanding of music culture, trends, and strong industry connections.
Key Responsibilities :
Talent Scouting & Acquisition
- Identify and evaluate potential artists, songwriters, and producers through live shows, digital platforms, industry referrals, and social media.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of emerging talent aligned with the company’s brand and vision.
- Negotiate deals and contracts in collaboration with legal and business affairs teams.
Artist Development & Management
Work closely with signed artists to shape their creative direction and sound.Match artists with songwriters, producers, and collaborators to strengthen their repertoire.Guide artists through recording processes, track selection, and production.Project Oversight
Oversee the development and completion of recording projects within budget and timeline.Liaise with marketing, promotions, PR, and digital teams to ensure cohesive artist campaigns.Monitor market trends and audience insights to maximize project impact.Industry Networking
Maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, producers, managers, and music communities.Represent the company at live events, showcases, festivals, and industry conferences.Strategic Contribution
Provide input into label’s overall A&R strategy and roster development.Identify commercial opportunities (sync, brand partnerships, collaborations) for artists.Key Skills & Competencies :
Strong ear for talent, music trends, and commercial viability.Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.Knowledge of music production, recording, and publishing processes.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Creative thinker with a business mindset.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Music, Business, Media, or related field (preferred).3–5 years of experience in A&R, artist management, or music industry roles.Established network of artists, producers, and industry contacts.Proven track record of successful talent discovery and development.
