We are developing next-generation pharma and laboratory instruments with precision engineering and robust manufacturing at the core.
We’re looking for a Prototype & Project Engineer who can work at the intersection of design, engineering, fabrication, and vendor management , playing a key role in converting concepts into high-quality working prototypes.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks' completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prototype Development & Assembly
- Build, assemble, and test prototypes for pharma & lab instruments (ovens, incubators, BOD analyzers, water baths, etc.).
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems into functional assemblies.
- Ensure accurate fitment, wiring, thermal insulation, and mechanical stability as per design intent.
2. Sheet Metal & Mechanical Fabrication
Interpret 2D & 3D CAD drawings with strong understanding of tolerances, GD&T, finishing, and material selection.Coordinate fabrication tasks : laser cutting, bending, welding, surface finishing (powder coating, antibacterial coatings, etc.).Review feasibility, provide DFM / DFA feedback, and recommend improvements to design and R&D teams.3. Electronics & Electrical Integration
Wire and assemble basic electrical circuits (thermostats, sensors, heaters, relays, SMPS, controllers).Conduct electrical test checks using multimeter, continuity tester & basic diagnostic tools.Assist in PCB integration, component selection, and troubleshooting during prototype stages.4. Vendor Management & Procurement Coordination
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for sheet metal, machining, PCB assembly, insulation materials, heaters, and other prototype components.Manage RFQ, quotation comparison, vendor negotiation , and ensure parts are delivered with required quality.Handle PR / PO creation, procurement follow-ups, invoice alignment, and logistics coordination .Maintain healthy relationships with local & regional fabrication partners.5. Project Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with internal teams (Industrial Design, Mechanical, Electrical, and QC) to ensure smooth prototype execution.Drive timelines, ensure deliverables are met, and escalate risks early.Document prototype builds, testing results, and engineering change requirements.Work closely with management on project planning, timelines, and vendor capacity evaluation.6. Testing, Validation & Reporting
Perform mechanical, thermal, electrical, and functional tests on prototypes.Identify root causes for failures and propose corrective actions.Prepare structured test reports, BOM updates, assembly notes, and vendor feedback documentation.Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering.Strong experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite3–8 years of hands-on experience in prototype fabrication , vendor coordination , and manufacturing support .Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and electrical basics .Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly schematics .Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.Strong practical mindset — “hands-on, problem solver, and quick learner.”Good-to-Have Skills
Experience in pharma / lab instruments , HVAC / heating systems, or industrial equipment.Understanding of insulation, thermal chambers, and safety norms.Existing vendor network in Hyderabad industrial belts.Experience in project tracking tools, ERP procurement workflows, and BOM management.
