Quality Assurance Test Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA / Test Engineer with strong expertise in testing news media websites, loyalty platforms, mobile applications, and REST APIs . The ideal candidate will be passionate about ensuring product quality, identifying issues early, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases across web, mobile, and API platforms.

Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and usability testing .

Test and validate news / media websites (content rendering, multimedia performance, SEO compliance, cross-browser checks).

Ensure loyalty platforms function correctly for user journeys, points accumulation, redemptions, and reward mechanisms.

Conduct mobile app testing on Android and iOS (UI / UX, compatibility, installation, push notifications, app store builds).

Perform REST API testing for request / response validation, authentication, performance, and error handling.

Use tools like Postman, Swagger, JMeter, Selenium, or equivalent for automated and API testing.

Document test strategies, test plans, and detailed bug reports.

Work with developers, product managers, and designers to resolve issues and improve product stability.

Ensure adherence to QA best practices, version control (Git), and CI / CD pipelines for seamless releases.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience testing websites, mobile apps (Android / iOS), and REST APIs .

Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC .

Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Postman, JMeter, Selenium, or similar .

Familiarity with cross-browser and cross-device testing .

Experience with bug tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar).

Knowledge of SQL / NoSQL databases for backend validation.

Ability to write and maintain clear, detailed test documentation .

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Experience testing media-heavy websites (video streaming, CMS-driven platforms).

Familiarity with loyalty systems (reward points, redemption flows, gamification features).

Knowledge of CI / CD, Git, and automation frameworks .

Exposure to Agile / Scrum development environments .

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field , or equivalent practical experience.

2–5 years of experience in QA / testing across web, mobile, and APIs .
