Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Apache Druid Support Staff member to join our technical team. This is a remote position with occasional visits to our Mumbai office, ideal for a hands-on technical professional with strong expertise in Apache Druid environments.

Remote (with occasional travel to Mumbai as needed)

Experience Requirements

Overall IT Experience : 3+ years in IT infrastructure and support

Apache Druid Experience : 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Apache Druid support and administration

Key Responsibilities

Apache Druid Administration

Manage end-to-end Apache Druid installations and configurations in OSS (Open Source Software) environments

Plan and execute version upgrades and patches while ensuring minimal downtime

Monitor cluster health, performance metrics, and resource utilization

Optimize Druid configurations for improved query performance and data ingestion

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Druid clusters, ingestion pipelines, and query performance

Investigate and address data ingestion failures, segment loading issues, and coordination problems

Perform root cause analysis for system failures and implement preventive measures

Collaborate with development teams to resolve application-level integration issues

Maintenance & Support

Provide L2 / L3 support for Apache Druid production environments

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides

Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for Druid data and metadata

Participate in on-call rotation for critical production support

Optimization & Best Practices

Tune ingestion specifications and segment granularity for optimal performance

Implement and maintain data retention policies

Recommend infrastructure scaling based on workload analysis

Stay updated with Apache Druid community developments and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

Apache Druid Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with Apache Druid architecture (Coordinator, Overlord, Broker, Historical, Middle Manager nodes)

Proficiency in Druid ingestion methods (batch, streaming, real-time)

Understanding of Druid query optimization and troubleshooting

Infrastructure & Systems

Experience with Linux / Unix system administration

Knowledge of distributed systems and cluster management

Familiarity with ZooKeeper and metadata storage databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL)

Additional Technical Knowledge

Experience with deep storage solutions (HDFS, S3, or similar)

Understanding of data streaming platforms (Kafka preferred)

Basic scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)

Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)

Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker / Kubernetes) is a plus

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder interaction

Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues
