Job Summary :

Experienced Linux Administrator with 3+ years of hands-on experience managing physical servers, troubleshooting OS-level issues, and ensuring system performance and availability. Skilled in Linux boot processes, server management, network troubleshooting, and working with hardware platforms such as Dell and Lenovo. Adept at performing root cause analysis, resolving system-level incidents, and supporting enterprise environments.

Job Summary :

  • Manage and maintain Linux physical servers, including server start, stop, and restart processes.
  • Troubleshoot server boot issues, GRUB errors, Dracut problems, Control-D interruptions, kernel panics, and maintenance mode entry.
  • Perform OS patching and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Conduct server sanity checks and ensure post-maintenance verification.
  • Assign IPs and troubleshoot network connectivity issues including ping and telnet failures.
  • Configure and manage NFS, DNS, and network routing.
  • Utilize IDRAC Console for hardware monitoring and remote server management.
  • Handle Dell and Lenovo server platforms for both physical and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot Linux services, including application and database servers.
  • Perform root cause analysis for system failures, service outages, or degraded performance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux physical servers and booting processes.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting OS and network-level issues.
  • Good understanding of server sanity checks and post-restart validations.
  • Hands-on experience with NFS, DNS, routing, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with remote management tools like IDRAC Console.
  • Working knowledge of Dell and Lenovo server hardware.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex issues such as GRUB, Dracut, Control-D, maintenance mode, and kernel panic.
  • Ability to handle OS-level concerns, application servers, and database server support.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with a proactive problem-solving approach.
