Senior Biomedical Systems Engineer

Job purpose :

The purpose of this role is to lead the design, development, and implementation of next-generation medical devices. Acting as a key member of the India Innovation Center core team, the role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to build high-performing teams, align cross-functional goals, and ensure delivery of robust, compliant, and innovative medical devices. This position drives end-to-end execution — from architecture design and stakeholder collaboration to hands-on product development and regulatory compliance — ensuring that critical-care medical devices are safe, scalable, and market-ready. Ultimately, the role exists to transform ambitious product visions into reliable, life-saving medical technologies.

Key duties and responsibilities :

• Define and own the overall architecture for embedded medical devices, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
• Drive system-level design decisions and align software and hardware architecture with business requirements
• Lead the design, development, and integration of embedded medical devices
• Establish and enforce modern design principles, standards, and best practices across development teams
• Guide teams in debugging complex system-level issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing long-term corrections
• Drive compliance to standards and safety requirements
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to development teams, reviewing designs and enforcing best practices
• Work closely with project managers to define technical roadmaps, timelines, and resource needs
• Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to ensure long-term maintainability and innovation
• Ensure documentation of system architecture, interfaces, and design decisions for internal and external stakeholders
• Support continuous integration and automated testing pipelines
• Act as the technical point of contact with stakeholders, vendors, and partners for all IIC ventures
