Job description

Job Title : Assistant Professor - Foundation

Education Background :

  • Postgraduate degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline.
  • Additional qualifications in multi-disciplinary design will be an advantage.

Industry Experience Required :

  • Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in multi-disciplinary design roles.
  • Strong exposure to applied industry practices and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

    • Key Responsibilities (KRAs) :

  • Design and teach subjects / modules / courses, including preparation and regular revision of course materials (syllabi, assignments, handouts, and teaching aids).
  • Conduct and supervise tutorials, workshops, practical sessions, and lab work.
  • Design and administer assessment briefs; evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive formative and summative feedback.
  • Facilitate and encourage student engagement on online and face-to-face learning platforms.
  • Identify and integrate industry connections, case studies, and guest interactions within the curriculum.
  • Drive student achievement and engagement through participation in events, exhibitions, competitions (national / international), and industry projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic quality standards and align with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

    • Key Competencies :

  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of multicultural and global design perspectives relevant to 21st-century creative practice.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills , with the ability to engage effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Proficiency in delivering content through both in-person and digital platforms .
  • Commitment to academic quality assurance, enhancement, and continuous improvement .
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a constructive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Passion for mentorship and student success , with a genuine willingness to support students in achieving their full potential.
