Job Title : Lead Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Developer

Job Summary :

We are seeking a Lead Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Developer to drive the design, development, and optimization of personalized customer journeys and campaigns. This role is ideal for a senior-level marketing cloud expert with strong experience in AMPscript, SSJS, automation, and cross-cloud integration. You'll play a pivotal role in leading SFMC development, ensuring best practices, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Development & Architecture :

  • Lead end-to-end SFMC solution design, including campaign logic, automation, audience segmentation, and multi-channel messaging.
  • Develop advanced email templates, cloud pages, and dynamic content using AMPscript, SSJS, and HTML / CSS.
  • Design and implement Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Transactional Messaging (Email / SMS / Push).
  • Build complex data flows and audience strategies using Data Extensions, Contact Builder, and SQL Queries.
  • Manage platform configurations and cross-cloud integrations (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CDP).

Integration & Data Strategy :

  • Build and manage integrations between SFMC and external systems using APIs, FTP, REST / SOAP, and custom connectors.
  • Architect and maintain secure data ingestion, ETL workflows, and data model design within SFMC.
  • Guide the use of Contact Model, Data Views, and data retention strategies to ensure performance and compliance.
  • Team & Project Leadership :

  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and enforce code and platform standards.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, CRM, and Data teams to align campaign strategy with technical execution.
  • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and solution delivery across multi region campaigns and channels.
  • Campaign Operations & Optimization :

  • Ensure campaign accuracy and reliability through rigorous QA and testing, including inbox rendering, deliverability, and tracking.
  • Optimize send strategies using Einstein tools, A / B testing, and engagement analytics.
  • Monitor campaign performance and lead troubleshooting for issues across content, data, and platform behavior.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering / Information Technology.
  • 8+ years of experience in SFMC development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior developer role.
  • Deep hands-on experience with :
  • o AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS)

    o SQL for SFMC, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, Cloud Pages

    o REST / SOAP APIs, API authentication, data synchronization

    o Send Logging, Data Views, Tracking Extracts

  • Understanding of email deliverability, CAN-SPAM compliance, and preference management.
  • Experience with CI / CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket) and SFMC deployment tools (e.g., SFMC CLI, GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JIRA or similar project tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Salesforce Certifications :
  • o Marketing Cloud Developer (required)

    o Marketing Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (preferred)

  • Experience with :
  • o Salesforce CDP, Interaction Studio, or Personalization Builder

    o MobilePush, GroupConnect

    o Multi-brand or multi-business unit SFMC architectures

  • Understanding of Salesforce CRM data models and cross-cloud journey strategies.
  • Soft Skills :

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage priorities across concurrent campaigns and technical projects.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on platform performance, data accuracy, and customer experience.
