L3 Systems Engineer (Remote)

Experience : 5 to 10 years

Skills : AWS Cloud infra experience + Okta are must.

Overview :

The L3 Systems Engineer role is more engineering-focused than traditional system admin roles. It blends AWS design, implementation, SaaS administration, on-prem oversight, and technical leadership. This role also acts as escalation for L2s and is expected to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation).
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, AWS Snapshots).
  • Administer SaaS (Okta, AWS Workspaces, Slack, Google Workspace, Zoom).
  • Monitor observability tools (Datadog, Orion, Nagios, WhatsUp Gold).
  • Support Active Directory, hardware lifecycle, Windows / Mac OS.
  • Collaborate with DevOps for CI / CD pipelines.
  • Provide escalation support, mentor L2 engineers.
  • Support in security incident responses (“all hands on deck”).
  • Balance hands-on work with governance and compliance awareness.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years AWS engineering / administration.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional preferred / expected.
  • Proven Okta administration expertise.
  • Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS / EKS).
  • Strong networking background (TCP / IP, DNS, VPN).
  • Excellent troubleshooting / documentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS / IT.

    • L3 expected to have certifications.
