Role : Lead Infrastructure Engineer (L5)

Location : Hyderabad

Job Summary :

Design and run major cloud infrastructure systems. Build highly reliable, secure, and cost-efficient platforms. Lead and mentor other engineers. Work with clients to understand their needs and translate to technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Architect, build, and manage scalable, available, and secure infrastructure (primarily on AWS).
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or AWS CDK) for repeatable deployments.
  • Set up access controls with IAM roles and policies, enforce least privilege, and ensure auditability.
  • Define identity & access flows (OAuth2 / OIDC) and dynamic role mappings.
  • Deploy serverless infrastructure (e.g., AWS Lambda functions) when needed.
  • Collaborate with cloud vendors on managed services, reliability, and roadmap.
  • Manage Kubernetes deployments using tools like Helm or Kustomize + GitOps (e.g., ArgoCD).
  • Build CI / CD pipelines (GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket / Cloud Build / Harness) with rolling, canary, blue / green deployments.
  • Ensure pipeline states are auditable and observable.
  • Implement security, audit, and compliance best practices throughout infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship and training for engineering teams.
  • Interface with clients to understand business / tech requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, manage backlogs and support project planning (in coordination with service delivery leads).
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • May participate in pre-sales or provide technical input to sales efforts.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years in infrastructure engineering or similar roles.
  • Deep experience with AWS and architecting for scale, high availability, and performance.
  • Experience with zero-disruption migrations.
  • Strong enterprise IAM experience and familiarity with OAuth2 / OIDC.
  • Expert level in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and / or AWS CDK).
  • Strong Kubernetes experience and associated tooling (Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD).
  • Solid understanding of Git, branching models, CI / CD deployment strategies.
  • Strong background in security, audit, and compliance for infrastructure.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills (both technical and non-technical stakeholders).
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, mentoring, and building self-organising teams.
  • Experience in client relationships and project planning.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Kubernetes Certified Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional).
  • Coding / scripting experience (e.g., Terraform, Python).
  • Experience with machine-learning infrastructure is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
