Finance Manager - Point Noire, Republic of Congo
Role Overview :
- The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and the implementation of strong internal controls.
- This role involves strategic financial planning, cost control, ERP system development, and leading the budgeting and audit processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Operations & Control
Oversee daily finance department operations including journal entries, sales, and procurement transactions.Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation of all financial records.Maintain robust audit trails and accurate financial documentation.Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and local tax regulations.Maintain strong internal controls across procurement, payments, inventory, and payroll.Financial Planning & Reporting :
Prepare monthly and annual management reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).Lead the annual budgeting process and present the final budget to the Board.Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity.Develop standard cost models for manufacturing and analyze cost variances.Monitor production and operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.Systems & Process Improvement :
Develop and implement a well-structured SOP for finance operations.Build and maintain an ERP system aligned with current and future business needs.Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.Inventory & Cost Management :
Supervise monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.Review supplier contracts for accurate accounting and cost recognition.Oversee commodity purchase contracts and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.Compliance & Audit :
Lead communications with external auditors and coordinate the preparation of annual audited financial statements.Develop and execute tax planning strategies to optimize tax exposure.Implement and manage transfer pricing policies for affiliate entities.Treasury & Risk Management :
Manage supplier payments, customer receivables, and credit limits.Oversee timely disbursements for utilities, salaries, and statutory payments.Develop procedures for international fund transfers and payments.Lead hedging activities to mitigate foreign exchange risks.Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred).12 - 16+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit; manufacturing experience is an advantage.Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting standards (IFRS / GAAP).Proven ability to lead financial planning, budgeting, and cost-control initiatives.Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.Candidates with previous experience working in Africa or the Middle East are preferred.Good command of English; knowledge of French is an added advantage.This will be a bachelor accommodation for first year.Compensation offered USD 3500 - USD 4000Expatriate Benefits : Accommodation, Transport, Yearly leaves
