About the Role

The Marketing Head will be responsible for the preparation and execution of a comprehensive marketing mix and the design and implementation of successful marketing strategies. The role involves scanning the market for potential therapeutic opportunities, identifying high-potential candidates, and maximizing the current product portfolio through strategic line extensions. The jobholder will work closely with the Business Head to achieve targeted budgets and market shares by sustaining high-volume brands, developing a robust secondary brand portfolio, and enhancing profitability.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Execution

Prepare and deploy a robust marketing mix aligned with business objectives.

Analyze IPM data to assess therapy trends, customer segments, and evolving market dynamics.

Recommend strategic entry into new therapies and specialties, aligned with divisional vision.

Implement innovative marketing strategies and tactics to drive project success and growth.

Analyze market trends, forecast sales, and monitor brand evolution indices.

Sustain and grow established brands and line extensions with effective promotional strategies.

Conduct ROI analysis for all major marketing investments.

Manage the product lifecycle and marketing efforts as per the BCG matrix.

Market & Customer Development

Develop and execute strategies for market expansion and customer segmentation.

Identify and engage with KOLs (minimum 20-25), and oversee KOL management strategies.

Participate in relevant customer forums to influence decision-makers.

Maintain market intelligence and develop responses to competitor strategies.

Promote differentiated value propositions and ensure strong field force alignment.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of Therapy Heads (GPMs) and Product Managers.

Monitor performance against business goals, ensuring strong brand performance and profitability.

Foster a culture of high performance, innovation, and accountability.

Field Force Support & Training

Drive marketing strategy implementation through the field force.

Conduct joint fieldwork (18–20 days per quarter) to support team execution.

Train the field team on promotional themes and monitor implementation effectiveness.

Budget Management

Ensure efficient cost and profit management across all operational marketing activities.

Optimize resource allocation to maximize return on investment.

Collaborate with supply chain to ensure adequate inventory levels.

Required Skills

Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

Leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in managing large portfolios across therapy areas.

Deep understanding of market dynamics and customer segmentation.
