Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled SCADA Engineer to join our team, responsible for integrating real-time Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and computer systems at electric power generation facilities. These include utility-scale solar, wind, hydroelectric, and natural gas plants.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing, installing, configuring, programming, and testing SCADA systems. This role demands a strong understanding of complex control systems and end-to-end communication networks to facilitate seamless data exchange across various devices such as RTUs, PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS, power meters, and meteorological data loggers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement SCADA and control systems for power generation facilities.
  • Integrate and configure RTUs, PLCs, DCS, and other IEDs.
  • Develop and test communication networks for data exchange.
  • Prepare detailed system drawings and interface documentation.
  • Specify equipment and present designs for internal and client review.
  • Conduct factory and site acceptance testing (FAT / SAT).
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing installations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional experience working with SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer-based data processing and networking.
  • Hands-on experience with wired and wireless communication equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware / software and electronic installations.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, OPC, and similar.
  • High-level knowledge of Serial and Ethernet communications.
  • Experience with SCADA and control system testing and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of power systems, including single / three-line diagrams and AC power theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
  • Ignition SCADA certification or relevant experience.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  • Availability to work rotating service desk shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
  • Willingness to work on Saturdays and Sundays as required.
