Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced

PHP Tech Lead
to lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in PHP (preferably using framework Laravel), excellent problem-solving skills, and proven leadership abilities. You will be responsible for guiding the team in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of PHP developers, ensuring coding standards and best practices.

Design and architect scalable and secure PHP-based applications.

Review code, provide technical guidance, and manage technical debt.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features.

Take ownership of technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure timely delivery.

Monitor application performance and improve existing systems for scalability and speed.

Oversee the integration of third-party services and APIs.

Manage sprints, planning, and task assignments using Agile methodologies.

Ensure the team adheres to DevOps practices, CI / CD, and automated testing.

Stay current with emerging technologies and propose improvements to our tech stack.

Required Skills & Qualifications

6+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development.

Strong experience with Laravel framework.

Proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.

Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, design patterns, and MVC architecture.

Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).

Experience with Git, Docker, and CI / CD pipelines.

Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong leadership, team management, and project planning abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in leading remote / distributed teams.

Contributions to open-source PHP projects.

Understanding of security best practices and performance optimization.
