Job Summary :

The Staff Nurse in ICU / NICU is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients or neonates. This role demands clinical expertise, emotional resilience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities :

ICU :

Monitor and manage patients with life-threatening conditions.

Administer medications, IV infusions, and ventilator support.

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for treatment planning.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Respond promptly to emergencies and perform CPR or other life-saving procedures.

NICU :

Provide specialized care to premature or critically ill newborns.

Operate neonatal equipment (incubators, ventilators, monitors).

Support feeding (breastfeeding, tube feeding) and hygiene needs.

Educate and counsel parents on neonatal care and progress.

Monitor vital signs and developmental milestones.

Qualifications :

B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.

Valid Nursing Council Registration (e.g., INC or State Council).

ICU / NICU training or certification preferred.

3 years of experience in the ICU or NICU is required

Skills & Competencies :

Strong clinical judgment and decision-making.

Proficiency in emergency response and critical care protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Empathy, patience, and the ability to handle emotional situations.

Familiarity with hospital software and electronic health records (EHR).
