Role Objective :
We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer with deep technical expertise in UI and API test automation, AWS cloud services, and modern automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in automation, capable of mentoring a team, and passionate about delivering scalable, high-quality solutions in a distributed agile environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and guide a team of test engineers across automation initiatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks and test suites for both UI and API layers.
- Apply strong programming concepts (OOPs) using Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
- Perform API and Microservices testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, Cypress, Karate, ReadyAPI, etc.
- Build and maintain modular automation frameworks leveraging Page Object Model (POM) and related design patterns.
- Write and maintain automated UI and API tests using Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, and similar libraries.
- Create and maintain CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, CircleCI, Tekton, or equivalent tools.
- Work with source control systems like GitLab, GitHub, AWS CodeCommit.
- Generate test reports using tools such as Cucumber Reports, Extent Reports, etc.
- Work extensively with AWS services including Lambdas, S3, SQS, SNS, SES, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Athena, and CodePipeline.
- Apply AWS best practices for scalability, reliability, and security in testing environments.
- Utilize SQL / NoSQL databases (MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB) for test data validation and queries.
- Collaborate in an Agile environment (SCRUM, SAFe, XP) and contribute to sprint planning and automation strategy.
- Quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and frameworks as per project needs.
Good to Have :
Experience with AWS CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, or other AWS deployment services.Service virtualization experience using WireMock, Mockito, etc.Exposure to TDD / BDD methodologies (Gherkin syntax).Hands-on experience with tools like VersionOne, qTest, or other test management platforms.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Red Hat OpenShift).Familiarity with non-functional testing performance, load, stress, and security testing.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.Prior experience working in an airline or travel technology domain is a plus.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and deliver under minimal supervision.Enthusiastic about continuous learning and integrating emerging technologies.(ref : hirist.tech)
