Technical Writer : Job Summary
The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving all customer-facing and internal product documentation. This includes user guides, API documentation, product manuals, release notes, FAQs, and training materials. The role requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for a variety of audiences, including internal teams, regulatory agencies, and end users.
Working closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams, this position ensures technical information is accurately communicated and accessible to all stakeholders—from end users to developers and system integrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, system specifications, regulatory submissions, and training materials.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, hardware developers, QA analysts, and product managers to collect, verify, and refine technical content.
- Translate complex engineering and system concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage documentation lifecycles, ensuring accuracy, version control, and timely updates to reflect product enhancements, patches, and regulatory requirements.
- Create visual assets—such as diagrams, flowcharts, and schematics—to enhance the clarity and usability of documentation.
- Participate in product lifecycle activities (design reviews, testing, and deployment) to gain a deep understanding of system functionality.
- Lead documentation initiatives across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality standards, and deliverables.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate, complete, and compliant documentation packages.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong command of technical terminology, grammar, and documentation structure.Proficiency with documentation and design tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, Confluence, Visio, and Adobe Illustrator.Ability to effectively leverage AI tools (e.G., generative AI, content optimization platforms, or translation assistants) to improve documentation speed, clarity, and accessibility.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple documentation projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary development teams in regulated or complex technical environments.Ability to quickly understand and document complex systems, including software architectures, hardware interfaces, and network configurations.Familiarity with content management systems, version control tools, and structured documentation workflows.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.Knowledge of casino operations, gaming systems, and regulatory compliance processes is desirable.Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related discipline.4–8 years of experience in technical writing within a technology-driven or regulated industry.Previous experience in the casino gaming or similar regulated technology sector is preferred.Demonstrated success in producing documentation for diverse audiences, including internal teams, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
