Job descriptionPreparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and / or the client. Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work. Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. Performing risk, value management, and cost control during construction. Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes. Tracking changes to the design and / or construction work, and adjusting budget projections accordingly. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
The core responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor include :
- Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs.
- Preparing, negotiating, and analyzing costs for tenders and contracts.
- Coordination of work effort.
- Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues.
- Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.
