Job description

Mercor is hiring on behalf of a top AI lab that is seeking Financial Advisors with expertise in credit card debt counseling to support clients in the United States. In this role, you will provide personalized repayment strategies , educate clients on credit utilization , and guide them toward rebuilding long-term financial stability .

Responsibilities

Assess client financial health : balances, repayment history, income, and spending patterns.
Create structured debt management plans (debt avalanche / snowball, consolidation loans, balance transfers).
Provide advice on FICO credit scores , credit utilization ratios, and long-term score improvement.
Stay updated on consumer protection laws (FTC, CFPB) and credit regulations.
Deliver ongoing coaching and track client progress toward debt reduction goals.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of U.S. credit card market, repayment tools, and regulations .

Familiarity with FICO scoring models and credit bureau reports (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).

Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.

Proven experience as a Financial Advisor, Debt Counselor, or Credit Specialist with U.S clients.

Pay & Work Structure

You'll be classified as an hourly contractor to Mercor.

Paid weekly via Stripe Connect, based on hours logged.

Part-time (20 hrs / week) with fully remote, async flexibility — work from anywhere on your own schedule.
