Role : Senior / Lead Data Modeller

Location : Pune

Notice Period : Immediate to 15 days only

Mode : Hybrid – 4 days a week

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to join our data engineering team for a leading banking project . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data modeling using Erwin , a deep understanding of Medallion architecture , and strong analytical skills to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality data models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using Erwin Data Modeler .
  • Implement and optimize Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for data pipelines and analytical systems.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and architects to define data modeling standards and best practices.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient data models .
  • Ensure data consistency, quality, and governance across multiple systems and environments.
  • Participate in data architecture reviews and provide guidance on database design and performance optimization.
  • Support data lineage, metadata management , and data cataloging initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the banking domain teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in data modeling within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Erwin Data Modeler (or equivalent data modeling tools).
  • Proven experience in Medallion architecture (Bronze–Silver–Gold layers) and modern data lake design.
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts , ETL / ELT design , and data governance .
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases .
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.G., Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data engineering ecosystems .
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Prior experience working on banking or financial services projects is mandatory .

    • Good to Have

  • Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory .
  • Knowledge of CDC (Change Data Capture) and data integration patterns .
  • Understanding of data quality frameworks and data cataloging tools (e.G., Collibra, Alation).
