Job Summary :
The Account Executive will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the NGO, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health and accountability of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to transparency and ethical financial practices.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all financial transactions in accounting software / manual ledgers.
- Prepare journal entries, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Ensure timely posting of income and expenditures with appropriate supporting documentation.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
Assist in preparing annual and project-wise budgets in coordination with program and finance teams.Monitor budget utilization and prepare variance reports on a monthly / quarterly basis.Support in reforecasting and financial planning based on donor funding and operational needs.3. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and donor requirements.Ensure all financial documentation (invoices, bills, vouchers, receipts, contracts, etc.) is filed and archived systematically.Support the preparation of financial statements and donor-specific financial reports.4. Donor Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure expenditures are in compliance with donor agreements, budgets, and grant terms.Prepare audit-ready documentation and coordinate with external / internal auditors.Address auditor queries and assist in implementing audit recommendations.5. Procurement & Vendor Management (Finance Role)
Ensure all procurement transactions are documented with proper quotations, approvals, and receipts.Maintain a database of vendors and suppliers and ensure timely settlement of dues.Track advances and ensure timely settlements and reconciliations.Qualifications & Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (M.Com or MBA Finance preferred).3–4 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in NGOs or development organizations.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and audit practices.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.) and MS Excel.Familiarity with donor compliance (e.g., USAID, DFID, UN agencies, CSR funding) is an advantage.High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.Good communication skills – both written and verbal.Preferred Skills :
Familiarity with grant management and donor financial reporting formats.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Working Conditions :
