About Rangriti – A Fast-Growing Fashion Powerhouse

Rangriti is one of India’s most dynamic and fast-expanding ethnic-fusion brands, crafting vibrant, contemporary Indian wear for the modern woman. With a footprint of 70+ stores across the country and rapid expansion planned, Rangriti operates at the intersection of design, analytics, regional cultural insights, and retail execution excellence. Our ambition is bold : to become India’s most loved and accessible ethnic-fashion brand, powered by innovation, agility, and deep consumer understanding. The Head of Merchandising plays a pivotal role in shaping this growth story.

Role Purpose : This is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for designing and executing Rangriti’s merchandising blueprint across India. The mandate is to drive profitable growth, build a highperformance merchandising engine, and ensure that every store reflects the brand’s promise through the right product, right depth, right place, and right time. You will orchestrate data-led assortment planning, store clustering, regional fashion logic, festival merchandising, forecasting, replenishment excellence, and inventory productivity— ensuring that Rangriti continues to scale as a trend-right, agile, and deeply consumer-centric retail brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Store Analytics Excellence

  • Build a robust analytics framework to track sales velocity, sell-through, WOS, size curves, and product lifecycle performance.
  • Develop region-wise merchandising logic (North, West, East, South) based on culture, climate, festival cadence, and consumer DNA.
  • Identify growth stores, potential unlocks, risk stores, and take proactive actions.
  • Run category-, sub-category-, colour-, fabric- and silhouette-level business deep dives to guide forward buys and in-season actions.

2. Assortment Planning & Intelligent Buying

  • Create store clusters and tailor assortments to micro-markets, consumer demographics, and demand patterns.
  • Partner with Design & Buying teams to build the seasonal architecture—balancing core essentials, high-fashion capsules, price-entry winners, and brand storytelling lines.
  • Use analytics-driven projections to determine buy quantities, depth, and size ratios for each cluster.
  • Ensure the assortment reflects the brand’s personality : colourful, youthful, expressive, and sharply differentiated in the value–fashion space.
  • 3. Allocation, Replenishment & Supply Agility

  • Build a scientific allocation framework powered by data, maximizing revenue at the store level.
  • Create a real-time replenishment engine to reduce stock-outs and capture full-price opportunity.
  • Drive inter-store transfers (ISTs) with precision to unlock inventory efficiency.
  • Align warehouse dispatch priorities with store performance, revenue potential, and festival readiness.
  • 4. Festival, Cultural & Seasonal Merchandising

  • Anchor a national festival calendar with sharp regional understanding
  • Drive proactive festival-readiness through curated assortments, deeper festive SKUs, and strong fill rates.
  • Anticipate demand spikes and ensure stores are stocked ahead of the curve.
  • Plan transitions between seasons (SS, AW) with a strong understanding of fabrics, colour stories, and consumer buying cycles.
  • 5. Inventory Productivity & Markdown Governance

  • Maximize full-price sell-through and minimize reliance on discounts / EOSS.
  • Predict risk inventory early and take timely action through re-routing, bundling, store promotions, or cluster reallocation.
  • Enhance GMROI, inventory turn velocity, and overall merchandise financial productivity.
  • Build a forward-looking OTB mechanism aligned to growth ambitions.
  • 6. Leadership, Capability Building & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Lead and nurture a high-performing team of planners, allocators, and analysts.
  • Drive a culture of speed, ownership, data-driven decision-making, and retail-first thinking.
  • Build strong working relationships with Design, Buying, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, VM & Marketing.
  • Influence key stakeholders to ensure merchandising priorities translate into seamless instore execution.
  • Key Skills & Competencies

  • Retail merchandising leadership with strategic + executional balance
  • Advanced analytics and demand forecasting
  • Regional & festival merchandising expertise
  • Strong understanding of product, consumer insights, and fashion trends
  • Inventory management, OTB planning, replenishment logic
  • Business acumen & margin-focused decision-making
  • High agility, ownership, and action-oriented mindset
  • Ability to operate in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial retail environment
  • Ideal Experience

  • 10–15 years of merchandising experience in ethnic wear, fusion wear, women’s fashion, or large-format apparel retail.
  • Experience managing 50–100+ stores is preferred.
  • Strong exposure to regional fashion nuances, festival-driven demand, and high volume product cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale merchandising systems, processes, and teams in a growth stage brand.
