Job Description :
The Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager – Legal & Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters of the organization. The role involves advising management on legal issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing contracts, handling litigation, and supporting governance frameworks. The candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and collaborate across functions to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
Key Responsibilities :
Legal :
- Provide legal advice to the management and business teams on diverse issues, including corporate, commercial, and labor laws.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MoUs, shareholder agreements, NDAs, and other legal documents.
- Handle legal disputes, litigation, arbitration, and liaise with external counsels.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards, and assess their impact on business operations.
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping of legal matters.
Compliance :
Oversee compliance with applicable corporate, labor, data privacy, anti-bribery, competition, and sector-specific laws.Implement and monitor internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls.Conduct internal audits and compliance reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.Prepare compliance reports and present them to senior management / board committees.Ensure timely filing of statutory returns, disclosures, and regulatory submissions.Support in governance matters, board meetings, and secretarial compliance (if applicableEducation
