Role : Textile Designer – Women’s Kurtas & Dresses
We’re looking for a
creative textile designer
to bring life to fabrics through thoughtful prints, textures, and color stories that reflect the essence of the modern Indian woman. Your designs will form the base of HAY’s
kurta and dress collections , blending timeless Indian elements with contemporary style.
Key Responsibilities :
Conceptualize and create
original print artworks
and
surface designs
for women’s kurtas and dresses
Develop
mood boards, color palettes, and design stories
based on brand direction and seasonal trends
Work on
Procreate (iPad)
or
Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
to design repeat and placement prints
Suggest
fabric–print combinations
ideal for bulk production (screen, digital, rotary, or block printing)
Coordinate with the
design and sampling teams
for scale, color accuracy, and fabric trials
Revise and refine print layouts based on sampling and feedback
Maintain organized digital folders, naming systems, and documentation for production and marketing teams
Ideal Candidate :
4–5 years of experience in
textile / print design , preferably in
women’s ethnic or fusion wear
Proficient in
Procreate (iPad) ,
Adobe Illustrator , and
Photoshop
Strong understanding of
color theory, print placement, and Indian fabric techniques
Knowledge of
printing methods
such as screen, rotary, and digital printing
Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely with quick design iterations
Passionate about creating prints that are
trendy yet timeless
Bonus if you : Have designed for
kurta / dress-based brands or D2C Indian wear labels
Are aware of
regional motifs, handloom inspirations, and cultural aesthetics
Can
hand-sketch or develop motifs
from scratch
