About the Role :

McCloskey by OPIS has an opening for an experienced journalist in our global editorial

team. You will be a senior price reporter covering the global ferroalloys and bulk ores

markets, with a particular focus on India.

You will report to the Ferroalloys Associate Director and work alongside our industry-leading journalists and price reporters.

You Will :

Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.

Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.

Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.

Periodic pieces on topical industry issues (e.g. regulatory / policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.).

Maintain strong client and industry relationships – ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.

Engage actively in business development, assisting OPIS’ account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.

Be a public face of McCloskey and OPIS in the ferroalloys space, via client / stakeholder engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, content marketing.

You Have :

2 to 4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and / or markets.

Experience in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores or related markets as a journalist, analyst or price reporter.

Excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrable impact and influence skills.

Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (e.g. moderating panels at conferences)

Strong quantitative skills advantageous

Exemplary written communication skills

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone

Ability to manage others while maintaining personal output

Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering would be advantageous
