Software Engineer II [T500-19426]

Key Responsibilities :

Contribute to the delivery of complex solutions, breaking down big problems into smaller pieces

Actively participate in team planning activities

Ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.

Able to triage complex issues independently

Aware of the technology landscape, help to plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications

Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design

Help new hires and junior engineers to improve their skills and be more effective

Contribute to and improve internal libraries and tools

Understand the business supported by your applications

Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager

Identify problems and risks of their own work and the work of others

Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues

Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success

Requirements :

4+ years of relevant professional experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent. Including :

3+ years of collective development experience using React Native or ReactJS.

1+ year of experience specifically with React Native, including some or most of the following technologies : XCode, Android Studio, Cocoapods, React navigation, React Query, TanStack, Metro, Deep linking, Push notifications, GraphQL, Git, Jest, Lerna, NX, yarn, Node.js, Axios

React Web development should include some or most of the following technologies : NPM, Yarn, Babel, Webpack, Typescript, GraphQL, Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cypress, React Query, React Hooks, Chrome dev tools, Charles Proxy

Understands considerations for state, session management, caching and other required JS dependencies

Strong collaboration with product managers and XD

Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues

Experience building highly scalable and performing applications

Preferred :

Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment

Experience designing and building GraphQL queries and integration with front end components

Experience developing or designing features that interact with or leverage GenAI or Machine Learning

Ability to build and optimize web applications and platforms in a cloud environment with a solid understanding of system design

Knowledge of networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and other infrastructure components
