Job Description :
We are seeking an experienced Workday Functional Consultant Payroll to join our HR Technology team. This role requires deep expertise in Workday Payroll configuration, support, and optimization, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local payroll regulations. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and IT teams to deliver scalable payroll solutions while driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Payroll functionality and related business processes.
- Configure and maintain payroll components including earnings, deductions, pay groups, tax elections, cost centres, and vendor integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver efficient payroll solutions.
- Perform payroll testing for upgrades, patches, enhancements, and Workday releases.
- Troubleshoot payroll calculation issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure data accuracy.
- Manage bi-weekly / semi-monthly payroll cycles ensuring compliance, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. payroll tax laws, wage & hour regulations, and internal controls.
- Develop payroll reports, dashboards, and audit documentation.
- Support integrations with external payroll providers such as ADP.
- Provide training and support to payroll and HR users.
- Maintain detailed process documentation and configuration notes.
Required Skills & Experience :
5+ years of payroll experience, with proven expertise in Workday Payroll configuration and support.Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.Experience with integrations, troubleshooting, and system optimization.Familiarity with additional Workday modules such as Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, or Benefits is a plus.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Workday Payroll or HCM Certification preferred.Education :
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.(ref : hirist.tech)
