About the Role :
Studio Nisa Punjabi is seeking a seasoned and self-driven Senior Interior Architect / Designer to join our team in Mumbai. This is a senior-level role for a confident design professional who is ready to take ownership of projects, lead design direction, and drive execution from concept through completion.
You’ll be responsible for design leadership across multiple projects — from conceptual development and client presentations to detailed drawings, material and product selection, and coordination with consultants and vendors. You will work closely with the Principal and lead the internal team to maintain the studio’s creative vision, technical excellence, and delivery standards.
Note : Most of our projects are located overseas, so a strong grasp of international design sensibilities, spatial standards, and aesthetics is essential. Prior experience with global clients or multicultural design contexts is a strong advantage.
As a Senior Interior Architect / Designer at Studio Nisa Punjabi, you will :
- Lead and drive design for high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors.
- Translate concept into detailed drawings and material boards with clarity and creativity.
- Develop and oversee all stages of the design process — concept, space planning, 3D development, detailing, and execution.
- Prepare mood boards, finish schedules, custom furniture drawings, and FFE specifications.
- Oversee the preparation and quality of construction documentation (including redlining and consultant coordination).
- Visit sites (virtually or locally) to ensure design intent is being executed, and resolve technical or material issues.
- Represent the studio confidently in client meetings, consultant discussions, and site briefings.
- Research materials and finishes, keeping design aligned with evolving trends and practical feasibility.
- Coordinate directly with MEP consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve details and ensure buildability.
- Mentor junior designers and manage their workflow on assigned projects.

A strong conceptual thinker with the ability to develop rich, narrative-driven design ideas.Excellent technical understanding of joinery, detailing, materials, and interior construction.Demonstrated ability to work with international design codes, aesthetics, and project standards.Ability to manage timelines, resources, and budgets without compromising design quality.Calm, solution-oriented, and capable of handling pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative studio.A good balance of design sensitivity and on-site pragmatism.Required Skills & Experience :
Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.Experience : Minimum 7 years in high-end residential, hospitality, or commercial interiors.Portfolio : Demonstrated leadership on executed projects with refined, globally relevant design language.Technical Tools : AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). (Bonus : Revit or project tracking tools)Bonus : Familiarity with AI-based design tools, image generation platforms (like Midjourney / DALLE), or process automation in workflows.Project Execution : Skilled in preparing BOQs, FFE packages, and conducting site inspections.Coordination : Strong understanding of working with consultants (MEP, structural, lighting) for seamless integration.Material Knowledge : Excellent awareness of finishes, custom detailing, and sourcing.Soft Skills : Strong communication, collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and team leadership.Why Join Us?
