QA Consultant – ETL & API Testing (MDM Preferred)

Role Overview

We are looking for a QA Consultant with strong hands-on experience in ETL / Data Pipeline Testing and API Testing. Experience with MDM Testing is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, good understanding of data flows, and familiarity with Informatica tools such as IDMC / IICS, CDI, and MDM SaaS.

Key Responsibilities

ETL / Data Pipeline Testing (Mandatory)

Perform end-to-end testing of ETL pipelines across cloud / on-prem environments.

Validate source-to-target mappings, complex data transformations, and SCD logic.

Perform data completeness, data accuracy, and reconciliation testing.

Test Informatica IDMC / IICS CDI mappings, taskflows, and ingestion patterns.

Create test scenarios using mapping documents, BRDs, and ETL workflows.

API Testing (Mandatory)

Test REST / SOAP APIs using Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI.

Validate request / response payloads, authentication flows, error handling, and negative scenarios.

Work closely with integration teams to test upstream / downstream interfaces.

Validate JSON / XML schema structure, status codes, and pagination logic.

MDM Testing (Preferred)

Test MDM match / merge rules, survivorship, trust settings, workflows, and golden record creation.

Validate MDM SaaS configurations, data cleansing, and DQ rules (if applicable).

Perform validation across landing, staging, base, and cross-reference layers.

Work with IDD / Data Steward use cases (preferred, not mandatory).

Quality Assurance & Process

Develop test plans, test cases, test data, and maintain QA documentation.

Perform functional, integration, regression, and data validation testing.

Log defects, track them to closure, and participate in defect triage with the dev team.

Provide QA sign-offs and ensure quality of deliverables.

Required Skills

4–7 years of QA experience with strong ETL Testing background.

Mandatory experience in API Testing using Postman / Swagger / SoapUI.

Strong SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation.

Experience working with Informatica IDMC / IICS, especially CDI.

Experience on cloud data testing (Snowflake, Azure, AWS, GCP) is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

MDM Testing experience (Informatica MDM on-prem or MDM SaaS).

Exposure to Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ).

Familiarity with Python / Shell scripting for data QA automation.

Knowledge of data governance and DQ workflows.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of QA deliverables.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
