Business Development Manager

Location : Bengaluru, India

Start Date : October 2025

Employment Type : Full-time, On-site

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through comprehensive market research and analysis
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, general counsel, and key decision-makers
  • Conduct client needs assessments and tailor legal service offerings accordingly
  • Implement strategies for client retention and account growth
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across different practice areas

Strategic Planning & Implementation

  • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with firm objectives
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates to create strategic plans for client acquisition
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
  • Prepare detailed business development reports and analytics for senior management
  • Pitching & Proposals

  • Lead the preparation of compelling pitch materials and proposals for potential clients
  • Coordinate RFP responses and tender submissions
  • Present firm capabilities and credentials to prospective clients
  • Manage pitch deadlines and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
  • Marketing & Events

  • Plan and execute networking events, seminars, and client entertainment activities
  • Manage the firm's participation in legal conferences and industry events
  • Coordinate with marketing team on promotional campaigns and initiatives
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts including social media presence and content strategy
  • Manage the firm’s ranking submissions and engagement with Chambers, Legal 500, Asia Law, Benchmark Litigation, IFLR 1000, and other portals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with partners, lawyers, and associates across all practice areas
  • Facilitate internal business development training and knowledge sharing sessions
  • Maintain and update client relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to legal teams
  • Required Qualifications

    Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or related field
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Professional certifications in business development or marketing are advantageous
  • Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years of business development experience in professional services
  • Prior experience in law firms, consulting, or legal services industry highly preferred
  • Proven track record in client acquisition and relationship management
  • Experience in the Indian legal market and understanding of corporate legal needs
  • Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and business intelligence tools
  • Understanding of legal terminology and various practice areas
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project management capabilities with attention to detail
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Indian corporate law and regulatory environment
  • Existing network within the Indian business and legal community
  • International business development experience
  • Fluency in additional Indian languages
